Wood, who was born in England in 1980, earned a master’s degree in Computer Systems and Software Engineering from York University. With the thesis “Contextual Visualization to Assist in the Common Navigation of Musical Sound,” he eventually earned his Ph.D. in 2005.

Gavin Wood began an intriguing career in software programming after receiving his degree. Wood worked on next-generation gaming engines, an extensible and scalable audio signal enhancement project, and the first C++ language software prior to entering the bitcoin field.
When Gavin Wood and Vitalik Buterin met in 2013, Wood’s career had switched to focusing on cryptocurrency and had advanced to co-founding Ethereum. Wood noted that he had always been interested in the game and economic theories and that the first essay he read about Bitcoin in 2011 was uninteresting and centered more on currency than technology. 2013’s conversation with Vitalik convinced Wood that this technology had the ability to revolutionize gaming, informatics, and social environments.
Wood made blockchain the focus of his life as he authored the “PoC-1” (first proof-of-concept) coding for the first operational Ethereum client. It was originally released in January 2014. Soon after, Wood penned the Yellow Paper, which is widely regarded as the first formal definition of a blockchain protocol and one of the primary ways Ethereum differs from other blockchain-based technologies.

Polkadot is the first software of its sort that intends to motivate a worldwide network of computers to operate a blockchain wherein users may create and manage their own blockchain. Gavin Wood, Robert Habermeier, and Peter Czaban are the project’s creators.
The Web3 Foundation’s president is Dr. Gavin Wood. He is known for creating the Solidity programming language, which is used to create smart contracts. Wood is also the creator of Parity Technologies. With a Thiel Scholarship, Habermeier is a productive blockchain and cryptography researcher.
