Good News from Bahrain to Crypto

Stc Bahrain, a subsidiary of Bahraini telecom operator Stc Group, recently said a partnership agreement with payment service provider Eazy Financial Services has created an opening for customers to use crypto to pay. According to a statement, the telecom operator’s move reflects “a strong focus on promoting Bahrain’s fintech sector as a global digital enabler.”

“Quick Search Around the World”

Bahrain’s telecom operator, Stc Bahrain, recently revealed in a statement that it now accepts cryptocurrencies, which apparently makes it the first in the kingdom to do so. The release also said the company has partnered with payment service provider Eazy Financial Services.

The partnership allows Stc Bahrain customers to pay their bills using the Binance wallet, the statement added. Commenting on the partnership with Eazy Financial Services, Nezar Banabeela, CEO of Stc Bahrain, said:

The rapid digitization across the world is changing every aspect of our lives, and payments are the most important. From online shopping and video streaming to money transfers, almost every digital activity relies on a payment system.

Banabeela also said that the telecom operator’s decision to accept crypto payments shows Stc Bahrain’s “strong focus on promoting Bahrain’s fintech sector as global digital enablers.” In addition, the president said that his company plans to make crypto acceptance “a seamless process and increase acceptance because crypto is the future of payments.”

Meanwhile, Eazy Financial Services Founder and CEO Nayef Tawfiq Al Alawi said that the partnership agreement allows the telecom operator to accept cryptocurrency payments but “in a legal, secure and extremely fast manner.”

For his part, Tameem Al Moosawi, CEO of Binance Bahrain, praised Stc Bahrain for leadership and can lay the foundation for telecom operators who want to move to the Web3 economy.
